G2's Big Solo-- Bit of a brag

She plays with a Community Klezmer band here in Albuquerque-multigenerational, over 20 members, G2 is the youngest by a good 20 years, not everyone is Jewish (as we are not either) it truly is made up of music lovers from all over the community, a lot of great folk music from Europe, she has played with them for over a year now and she herself has played for 3 years, going on 4, she has been able to study with musicians who come to visit from all over the country/world as well as the great people in the community band...this is all her from the time she was a toddler she wanted to do this. She says she was a violinist in a past life (if you believe that sort of thing) she told me this when she was 5 and I had never talked to her about that stuff lol. They have a CD coming out in February and the band surprised her by asking her to do this long solo at this holiday concert at the Santa Fe children's museum! They are so great to her not making her a mascot or talking down to her but talking to her like a regular musician-they are all her 'grandparents' and love her dearly. So anyways here it is...Undzer Nigidl (sp?) sorry for the atrocious spelling of this song I will go look in her music book.... She did stay around afterwards and talk to some of the little kids who came up to her...she thought it was cool to inspire other kids to play an instrument and it was cool to have all these kids going 'wow look at that little girl' around us....then the teacher announced how old she was and the crowd clapped after she was introduced at the end it was very good for her to realize her talent. Next songs on her list to be learned are a Miley Cyrus song (Lets Dance) and Black Sabbath Iron Man--she is a woman of wide musical preferences although she has a strong dislike for US fiddle/country music lol
