Day 102
We have homeschooled since the day my kids were born-they have never been in school. Oh they have taken classes and know how to act at a school, much to the shock of many. We have always said if the girls want to try a school we will figure it out and see what works for them. So late this Summer some friends told me about a local cyber school, which means they only go to school for a day and half a week and do all of their work online-everything, even labs and lectures...G1 got really excited because there are other resources that this school offers that are just what she was looking for and gosh how can you beat a one room schoolhouse type school with 20 kids in her class??!! So we put her name in knowing it was really late to add her name to the list and it would most likely be another year till she might get called. Weeelllll a month into school they called--after a placement test and an interview she is now our First Day of School 7th Grader!!
She had her first day on Friday and is totally psyched to give it a go....we will support her through her decisions and we are pretty pleased because it was this or another cyber school we had to shell out money for...gratuitous first day of school picture lol
....it was also the first day G1 spent time away from us on her own. She went on a swim team retreat to Purgatory in CO and she came home exhausted, full of memories, a little sunburned and is ready for the swim season.
NOTE the shirt GOOOOO GATORS.....football season is underway......WOOOOHOOOO
