Yes it flurried yesterday and was pretty much freezing all day AFTER of course we uncovered the ponds from their winter slumber. It it the desert though and that will probably be the last few days of winter we have unless Canada throws down another wave but it is unlikely. The ponds had a thin layer of ice on them but you can still see my humongous goldfish have survived nicely and all the plants will start to come back up to the top once it gets more sun on it....it was nice to hear the trickling water again.
All we did for winter was cover it in greenhouse plastic with the parts above the water raised up to allow for air circulation. And even the plants around and in the pond loved it and are starting to pop up already---see my big strawberry plants in the front. We even have grass peeking up....I will have a green backyard yet!
