The fabric is a vintage one I had laying around-I am sure it is 70s but that is just a guess. Like a canvas cotton feel, very woven, but pliable not stiff and scratchy
The buttons are ones from my button hoarded collection--they will be placed all over the vest and yes hand sewn one by one gonna work on that tonight before I pass out from early swim schedule morning exhaustion.
And the fringe was recycled from a garage sale find--it was a dress with homemade fringe on the bottom and well it just looked better on the vest...
I took this to swimming this AM laying out the buttons to see where I wanted them (or I should say where the girls wanted them) and got distracted by all the moms reminiscing about what they wore in the 70s or what their parents wore.
BTW if you listen to RadioDisney you will have heard the remake of 'Can't Touch This' Yes SADLY the wearing of Hammer pants may be on the rise- perhaps we should have some sort of service announcement warning parents of the dangers of wearing these voluminous pants...some warnings similar to the 'No capes' rule from the Incredibles movie? And just in case you speak Hindi here it is for you... see a warning in many languages against hammer pants campaign should be started now...
As an 80s clothing mention I must say seeing the Members Only jacket on Rob Pattinson in Twilight was an unexpected pleasure ...SIGH Drool---actually I am a Team Jacob fan....you have seen the new trailer right for New Moon? OK my tweenie just popped in and said 'Mom don't write that you like Jacob oh that is so embarrassing he is way young put that you like Bella's dad or Carlisle or something' Pooh on her but it is true I like those characters in a much more mature way lol lol
Or Harry, don't forget about Harry as he deals with some way harsher times at school...coming in July! I will be waiting till it hits the dollar theatre cause I am cheap that way...
