Inspiration Friday: Art & Books from my childhood

Day 86

Growing up we had art books and were it seems surrounded by art in the home. I would sit and browse through these for hours. I doodled on everything and everywhere. I read almost constantly. I perhaps (as some said) lived in a fantasy world. In reality books and these artworks were my companions when things were tough.

And looked down one as far as I could

You might find my choices of authors strange for a child. I have not one explanation just that I was fascinated by the stories and the writing and still today I search for novels just as well written comparing them subconsciously to these masters. I think I must have read and reread MacBeth dozens of times. Poe often gave me the shivers but I read them anyway over and over.

I still have all of my original books and when my oldest daughter wanted to take them into her room I happily passed them on glad to know that the tattered bindings were being loved once more.

Still this is the path I have chosen and I don't regret one step of it....even when it is uphill both ways.

Of course some of my closest friends are probably reading this and nodding their heads going 'AHA' now we understand.
