Twas a few weeks before Christmas....

Day 127

...the insanity of the holidays continues....

....from ugly plastic some sort of color in the throwback 70s pink scale...scored from thrift store...
...liberal use of duct tape in places unseen by most is a MUST in some projects, especially when dealing with plastic that will not take the awesomeness of the staple gun ...

...turned it to this....but the age old question remains???...will they use it? bum bum bummmm

annoying cheaply made churned out thin assembly line fabric quilt that is just beyond frustrating to continue to have to fix sooooo covering it with my favorite Anne Marie Horner Good Folks Fortune Sea Print ambitious to start this in the season of busy BUT I need this quilt back as it is my favorite for layering warmth in the cold days....if there ever will be a winter here in Albuquerque y'all who are dealing with excessive weather weellll it has been in the 50s and 60s here so not so much winter as a continuation of Fall or an early Spring SIGH (closing eyes wishing for white christmas)

This year we got a baby real live tree....and my precious G2 loved playing amongst the little kid houses in the tree lot's decorated winter wonderland....

This is my girl pre running through maze and sustaining foot, knee and hand bleeding injuries after skidding on loose hay. And YES of course those are new jeans she ripped a bloody hole into ....

See real tree, real pine smell in our house, kids have never had a real tree before BUT we had to get this teeny one because it is part of a fund raiser for Galloping Grace Youth Ranch and I can not resist a low low price, a scraggly small tree and a putting my last $ in my purse towards something good.
You likie my simple ornaments? Wait till you see it all finished....

...so while sniffing way too much pine resin we decided to mess with the kids again-oh the doosies we could tell you like 'you have to be 10 to go to Chuckie Cheese' so that special brand of knee bruising, ticket swallowing hell was never experienced in this house and when the kids did get old enough they did not care YAY....

anyway we dug out this door (it once held a photo album) and put it under the tree
the girls asked if they could open the door
I said 'not until Christmas'
why? the darling innocents asked sort of like Cindy Lou Who who was no more than 2
But do you know, that Grinchy mama and papa were so smart and so slick, they though up a lie and they thought it up quick
If you open that door you will be sucked inside, into a vortex to another world or another dimension
why have we never seen it before?
Because it was too dangerous to bring out when you were little
Where did you get it?
Dumbledore when we went to Hogwarts, it came from the Room of Requirement, didn't you see it in the movie in the room with the cabinet?
Their fingers trembled to open it, their eyes wide with a tinge of fear, the gears in their heads visibly churning thinking 'our parents are always doing this to us' BUT what if....

MUAHAHAHAHAHA....yea it still hasn't been opened LOL LOL....but on Christmas I promise it will be safe to open

Note black lump near fireplace is actually a real life cat NOT a lifelike cat rug or spot in the carpet

Enjoy! Back with more later TONS to get done....what are you creating today?
