Beautiful dress fit for a CD release party

This dress came out exactly the way G2 had described and altered it....she put together the fabrics and notions, helped me when she outgrew the size between the time I cut out the pattern and when I started to sew it-dang kids and their growth spurts....not too keen on her choice of the ribbon in the bodice (it is too stiff and sticks up) but if she likes it who am I to complain.....so I might just tack it down with a few stitches and leave it be.....

The pattern started out as an Ottobre Spring 1/2003 Dress #19 and turned into this--we added side panels on the skirt-G2 did not want it gathered at the skirt so I gathered the side panels to account for the extra fabric. She wanted an apron panel in the front and no gathers in the sleeves (she has a personal vendetta against gathers lol) no really she just does not like tight things on her skin and it would really bother her when she is playing. We also shortened the sleeves quite a bit so it would not interfere with the violin and added some vintage trim on the sleeves to break them up.

Zips up the back and it appx almost ankle length.
