We have all seen peasant tops and they are usually gathered at some point with elastic thread but as we have noticed before G2 hates anything that itches her skin or is tight...although she did ask for elastic on the bottoms of her sleeves....she chose the fabrics and told me where to put which ones...used a cute orange ribbon to gather at the neck and yes it does sit quite wide at the neck but that is because she does not want the gathers to interfere with where her violin rest sits and why she is wearing a shirt under it so that the violin does not rub on her skin.
This last picture is blurry becuase she was practicing her twirl and I caught her in the act........it turned out very very cute.....and I will be making some more of these for her and for G1 as they are pretty flattering on them and we can play with the design
Fabrics used:
Mermaids in Blue from the Heather Ross Mendocino line-the Brackish collection
And Swim Class (in the) Pacific w/ blue fish also from Heather Ross Mendocino Line
Skirt is ready made silky donated by older sis to wear for the evening.
Artist,Homeschooling Mom of 2 girls.....Letting the art out through needles, thread and fabric on a daily basis. A personal challenge to create something every day for 365 days. Whether it be through fabric and thread, paint, pencil, ceramics, music, design or just plain enjoying the art and inspiration that is around us. Stopping to view the beauty not just smelling the roses but to take it ALL in and enjoy each day!
