Our Jimson Weed bloomed and these flowers are HUGE roughly 8" diameter and there are 3 more blooms that are waiting...
Another backyard surprise from our High Desert Plains wildflower mix, love this color blue. I have no idea what these are...they are small though sort of pansy size.
A juvenile robin who has taken up residence with his father in our backyard..he hides here or waits patiently on the back wall for dad to return with insects and we actually got to watch him be fed...it was funny because he would stand and 'yell' at him (what I took as telling him to stay put) then leave....the baby would stay there and they have been making quite a bit of noise in the morning...Better Robins than pigeons though!!
Yes that is a Black Widow Spider our backyard and the entire Southwest is literally crawling with them...this one is HUGE, that is a wall cinder block she is sitting on...hopefully we can get to her before she lays an egg sack.
This is a luna moth--we get a lot of these around and are trying to plant some night blooming things for them....he hung out on our back door screen all day. He was around 3" long if not more.
Yep life in the Southwest, a regular nature center, I swear we should give tours and classes sometimes....
