Day 47

What a great week! My In-laws are visiting and we are having a really great time. I just have to add a few touches to some more 'Spiraling Birds in Flight' wall hangings and they will be ready for sale.

OK if you are a JRR Tolkien Lord of the Rings geek and have seen the movies you might recognize this

but what you might not know is that I recreated it yesterday in yarn form while attempting to make an Ojo de Dios something so simple but I am happy with it, perhaps I need one looking over my shoulder right? Anyway I gathered some more sticks to make another attempt at this relaxing craft.

Ah but compare it to the lovely one my MIL made on the left and she was so hesitant at first.

It is nice to see that the wonderment and discovery of the world is not lost on a 11 and 9yo although G1 did try to convince G2 that this particular lichen was a poisonous, carnivorous plant and she shouldn't touch or it might suck her in...

went to the zoo the other day and I just can not stop staring at these saltwater crocs...they are astounding in their size and strength...this little guy is over 15ft long

just a few of the Sandhill cranes we saw and listened to while visiting the Albuquerque Open Space Visitor Center it was so peaceful sitting in the sun on a clear cool New Mexican day I almost could have taken a nap
