Sokka was not too bothered by the photo shoot in his holiday Sugar Plum fairy outfit, love the way that tutu is stiff like a real ballerina don't you?
Completed these last week but the girls have not allowed me to have them back to take pictures so I just took one of mine....these were to honor our really old cat Misha who died not too long ago....freakishly we found this fake fur that looked and felt just like her then I saved her collar and cut it into three pieces sewing each piece onto the stuffed cats. We decided no faces as they were to remember that she is gone but still with us...I think they turned out really good, so good that the kittens were a little freaked out by them thinking she was back!
My newest sewing gadget toy a cone thread holder I am sure all you experts out there have heard of this but I had never although now that I research it, it seems it is something sewists have invented for ages....very very very cool gadget and I don't have to buy so many little spools of thread for bigger projects. To make it work better I stuck a med size empty spool into the cone to keep it from moving around on the platform.
We often shop at thrift stores--having tweens with different styles this really allows them to find their own unique clothing style. My 11yo who normally dresses closer to this discovered 2 white skirts with beautiful designs that she wanted-why? to have something nice to wear to her sister's gigs and concerts (awwww how sweet right?!) Anyway, this skirt was a size 20 so I just pleated it up and added some trim at the top a very sweet skirt on her, will try to get pics tomorrow-she promised! And I will finish up the second skirt easy peasy!
I have an affinity not only for blue but for ceramics and bowls of all sorts. One might call it a teeny obsession of which I purged ones that were not 'me' a few years ago and have since been collecting ones that do fit in the lair....my mom just sent these 3 lovely little blue dishes that sit awaiting to be filled with tiny sewing odds n ends, note the blue leaf plate underneath a gift from a few years back.
That's all for now and not nearly all that I have been working on...hub finally helped me get cracking on my own website and logo which should be up and running soon. Of course it will be totally Momtastic! For now we are dealing with major head colds that has turned into a chest cold for the 9yo who has asthma and I have been up long nights with her coughing...it's a mom's life isn't it though?
