Day 115
......not packed into a sucked flat storage bag that will never be opened again, not in plastic bins in your garage or in stacks in the back of your closet but out in a great blanket that can be used to keep you warm and to keep those memories close!
This is a full sized Tshirt blanket backed with a softer than soft minky type double chenille.....I know that each blanket I make will be unique because of the items to be added and the creative ways I have to get them into 12" squares. This one has some pieces of karate belts on the front and it is now edged in the longer belts (I will get a good picture today as I am assuming our blue skies will be back and not the gloomy weather we had yesterday so all these pics came out dark)<--NOT the most pleasant thing to sew together two of these thick belts but it looks good as a border
Here is one of my favorite squares a reverse applique of the small embroidered hearts, tag and bits of sleeve from the back of the Disney shirt front that is on another square.
One of the karate gi's in which I had to move the patches from the sleeves and move one over so that they all fit onto the square.
I kept the neckline and put a piece of the fabric from the bottom of the gi behind it and sewed it shut before I cut it into a square
