Day 78
Yep yep I know not much blogging but we have been busy busy...
I mean weird and wild is fairly normal for a State that sometimes still feels like the Wild West. This past weekend not only did it snow but it snowed and hailed-- 11/2" in some places totally bizarro....lucky for us we declined to attend the OUTDOOR swim meet and yes I snickered at my friends who did go-sorry gals but I am laughing with you okay?!
And on Saturday it was so cool we decided to go for yet another lava rock hunt among the various spoil piles--ya see cooler is better around lava rocks because the snakes go there to warm up
Here is the view of the Sangre de Cristo mountains near Santa Fe which were getting dumped on
--and our Sandia mountains where you can see the early snow that they received on the tops...down in the valley there is Albuquerque proper
yes our skies really are that shade of blue, sometimes it takes your breathe away the beauty of this State....my rock hunters who go armed with pieces of rebar searching for the perfect size and color for our dry riverbed in the backyard
lots of babyfood jars that will become pincushions (freecycle a thrifters best friend) I am teaching a huge class this weekend of over 150 people (WHEW what FUN!!!) so they need somewhere to park their needles!
an extremely bizarre pair of brass wreaths, a mishmash of holidays and animals...so bizarre we had to get them...
a film canister with a couple of reels in it--thinking of putting bits of these into a fabric collage
and a lonely maiden who was begging to be rescued and fixed like her csi counterpart before her who is just awaiting a good hairdo and the perfect dress...but then again she looks kind of cool without hair don't you think, kind of like the lead of an 80s band?
