Memory Lapse- Day 19 of 30

Yea been remiss in this project but I'm cool with that....onward and upward right? Don't really have my 30 words to write today. Something happened at swim practice last night and it could have been something, it could have been nothing I will let the powers that be sort that out but a kid was very scared sobbing and shaking....so scared that all the moms could sense something was not right, call it momstinct cause we got it. The authorities were called and the mom kept it together for her kid despite the wild things inside she was feeling--we moms knew we could tell by her eyes with every word the kid said that brought her closer to that precipice no mom wants to experience.

My G2 was there while this was happening, G1 was in the pool, although the moms kept it together so well as did the authorities who arrived that there was no crazy hyped up panic, so we had to have that talk the talk where you once again try not to scare a kid, try to empower them, try to tell them to always be aware of their surroundings, not to live in fear but listen to what feels right or wrong.

One more chip off innocence lost in a little kid's life-reality comes way too soon these days.

HUGE SIGH--my babies I wish I could put them in bubble and keep them protected forever but then again I want them to experience life so I will like all mothers let them go little by little.....ANOTHER HUGE SIGH.

On the other hand I have some exciting sketches coming out some form of art therapy for me I don't know with all the changes and things happening these past few days but I will show them off today! Think Halloween!

Memory Lapse- Day 18 of 30

'Bright' and early swim practice turned into cold and rainy but the kids had a blast practicing with the rain falling and falling and pouring. Even the beautiful mountains disappeared.

Over a month of doing this... here is the original explanation!

Memory Lapse-Day 17 of 30

This is our small green oasis in a sea of dusty, desert brown. Too bad it only lasts a few months of the year. Hub has done an amazing job.

Memory Lapse-Day 16 of 30

I love seeing the kids engrossed in a project. Lately G1 has been really into drawing some of the creatures and character from her favorite manga, anime and card games.

Memory Lapse- Day 15 of 30

Bouncing, laughing, talking, snickering, teasing, falling down, singing, arguing, annoying, talking (yes I said talking twice), learning, loving, gazing, dreaming, drawing, writing, creating, being, protecting, running, shouting, daughters, sisters, friends.

Memory Lapse- Day 14 of 30

I have an addiction to buttons. When I find the perfect project to put some of my vintage finds on it makes me very happy! SIGH, only 1 left over :(

Memory Lapse- Day 13 of 30

Can you see the face in this picture? Can you guess what it is? Hint: They are attracted to my night blooming Jimson Weed and are the size of hummingbirds!

Memory Lapse- Day 12 of 30

I love this blurry picture showing the kids in all their fun and joy of being at a swim meet. They can hardly sit still between swimming and the cheering!

Memory Lapse-Day 11 of 30

Spending the entire weekend at the pool with great kids and good friends is always a fun time--even though it was hot, humid and exhausting~way to go kids!

Memory Lapse-Day 10 of 30

What I see every day in my Creative Lair. I change things out so that I am always inspired by different things throughout the year. I love my 'MOM' collage.

Memory Lapse- Day 9 of 30

Unplugging my camera from the computer and accidentally took this picture. I am keeping it because it is so random it makes me happy. Pretty colorful tools of my trade.

Memory Lapse-Day 8 of 30

It rained today for a whole 20 minutes...I should say the sky spit cause that is about how heavy it was...the air smelled like rain for a while.

Memory Lapse- Day 7 of 30

Weird freak of a cat who loves to be held like a baby, begging for hugs, pushed in a stroller, dressed up in doll clothes and a good pit scratch.

Memory Lapse- Day 6 of 30

Serenity in the Summer. This is what saves my sanity in a home in the desert where the soothing patter of rain is nearly non-existent. When will it rain again?

Memory Lapse- Day 5 of 30

One of my favorite times of the year, when the first sunflower appears. About 5'+ tall, over 6" in diameter and following the sunrise to sunset. Just absolutely glorious beauty.

Memory Lapse- Day 4 of 30

My piles of fabric scraps speak for themselves when I am deep into a project. When I make a huge mess in my creative lair I can sleep satisfied. Ahhhhhh

Memory Lapse- Day 3 of 30

No one is allowed to work on paper on the floor in my house apparently. Paper= black cat fun and games. Claw holes and bite marks on the edges extra.

Memory Lapse- Day 2 of 30

Found fortunes, lost marbles in a jar I pass daily. Keeping them safe for a stranger because I will make my own. Maybe lose a few marbles along the way :)

Habit Experiment Day 1 of 30--Memory Lapse

Mine is going to be called 'Memory Lapse' I was going to name it 'Moments in my Memory' but well A) that sounded like a bad prom theme and this immediately brought to mind images of baby blue cummberbuns(sp?) (ya know those useless decorative man waist huggers), itchy poofy sleeve dresses, Talking Heads , Depeche Mode and tequila .....*SHIVER* WTH was I thinking?!! and B) I find myself wondering if I am loosing my memory and listening avidly to those memory enhancer commercials so 'Memory Lapse' it is!

These are going to be a little side experiment I have going with a beautiful artist friend of mine for the next 30 days. 30 pictures, 30 words per picture--a day in the life, the moments that are taken note of but often missed....the things that happen behind the smiling faces of most photos....

One of my Facebook friends or was a it a blog? No I think it was a blog I read posted about this website [FYI Here is the original blog and idea --> Habit] and I knew immediately we just HAD to do it...we meaning this artist friend of mine I know who takes the most beeeyooTfull photographs I have seen AND I really wanted to see how she would interpret an experiment like this. So I posted it to her page. Of course she is not obsessed with Facebook like I am so I immediately told her EARLY this AM at swim practice when she was half awake and did not have caffeine in her system yet that she would be doing it with me and we were starting today!! So I tell her and she starts throwing out big art words like 'social experiment' and 'photographic journal' or at least that is what I heard before my mind zoned out and all I heard was 'blah blah blah good idea lets do it' snicker giggle I kid you M no really I did I hear everything you said and I absorbed it and locked it into the art closet part of my brain with the monkey zombies (yea I dunno either just roll with it).

So like the ADHD puppy bouncing at your ankles adult that I am I AM going to start today, RIGHT NOW, then I am going to go text M and make sure she does it too--it's the little things folks, the little things that matter--the little things and caffeine oh well and love too, love matters

---->>> Bought on the day she was born, fabric worn thin, patches on patches of repairs brought to me once again to fix--avid reminder that I have an almost teen.

Turns out using only 30 words is harder than Twittering snicker lol.
