It's full of Stars Sunday....

Sunday we braved the 100+ weather and a fire on the other side of the mountain making the air a tad smoky to go to the 'She is An Astronomer' celebration for girls 8-18 during this International Year of Astronomy 2009. This was amazing and it was FULL of girls I mean packed. What a beautiful thing to see right? Girls geeking out to science!

And almost all the presenters were women in various astronomical fields or enthusiasts who were genuinely excited to bring their passion and education to this younger generation of girls.

G2 wanted to sit on a volcano in the landscape part of the courtyard.

And oh so radically cool planetary geologist showing us Venus and the area she is studying

The girls standing by some telescopes they hope to acquire someday...lotto winnings girls, lotto. Notice the Very Large Array notebook G1 got she was totally psyched that is one of her favorite places on the planet...dooood learning rocks
